Freedom House Recovery Society
Welcome to Freedom House. Founded in April of 2003, Freedom House Recovery Society is a non-profit, drug and alcohol recovery centre for men, 19 years-of-age and older, who wish to recover from addiction. As required under the British Columbia Community Care and Assisted Living Act, Freedom House residences are licensed and registered with the Assisted Living Registry governed by the BC Health Authority.
Whether it is the rapid rise of opioid addiction or the longstanding challenge of alcohol dependence, addiction can — and does — prevent people from living healthy and productive lives. And, just as importantly, they have profound effects on families, friends, and entire communities.
Recovery is a process of change through which individuals improve their health and wellness, live a self-directed life, and strive to reach their full potential. Freedom House employs psychosocial treatment programming, focusing on the nature of self-understanding, social relationships, and the mental processes that support connections between the person and his social world.
